Vision & values

Our vision is at the heart of everything we do. It is an integral part of our lives which drives our students and teachers to be the best that they can be.

Ngā tikanga o te kura o ngā Puna Wai Whenua are the values of Springlands School. They have recently been updated in consultation with local iwi and our community. The values are manawanuitanga, whanaungatanga, kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga. All ākonga (students) are explicitly taught the values in a variety of contexts. The values are wrapped within our school belief of ma te mahi ka ora – from hard work, comes success.

Tō tātou tūranga OUR PLACE

We promote a partnership with parents, nurturing a safe inclusive environment where ākonga are engaged learners immersed in motivating and challenging programs. We want the ‘mauri‘ of Springlands School to reflect the unique qualities of the school as a Green Gold Enviro School. We have high expectations and a connected team focused on growing learners and leaders.

Tō tātou wā mua OUR FUTURE

We want our people to have the competencies and intelligent behaviours that will help them become thoughtful, productive, positive citizens in an ever changing world utilizing the latest technologies to deliver future focused learning.

Ō tātou tāngata OUR PEOPLE

We want our people to be honest and resilient, operating in partnership with the community. We want a culture where positive relationships are valued and acknowledged through a team approach to education.

We want our ākonga to challenge themselves as learners to reach their full potential and ‘make a difference’ to their own lives, the lives of others; both locally and globally.
