Performing Arts

Anthony Gredig is our performing arts teacher. Anthony takes all students for dance, drama and music, with the support of Sarah Girling.

Kapahaka Groups

The school performing artist specialist develops the children’s talents in a visual expression of Maori culture and traditions. Kapahaka meet regulary to practice and perform regular to the public and for school events. The whole school has kapahaka on a Friday alternate to assembly.

The music specialist leads the choir and this is a strong focus in the school. The school choir participates in the Marlborough Schools Music Festival regularly as well as representing the school for a variety of public performances. If your child is interested in joining the choir they should speak to Sarah Girling in Room 3’.

I’m very much looking forward to growing the passion for all things Performing Arts in our Springlands School ākonga and whānau. I also have the privilege of working with our student leaders too, including our fresh-faced Year 5’s. Can’t wait to see you in our assemblies and other school events throughout the year. Arohanui.
